Relational Cities and Territories.
The quality of life in a territory depends not only on the quality of its facilities and infrastructure, but also on the quality of the relationships built within it.
How can we transform territories into communities?
Cities are far more than buildings, infrastructure and services. They are living networks of relationships — encounters in the street, the connections between neighbours, the trust between citizens and institutions, the spaces where people feel recognised, part of something and cared for.
The great contemporary challenges — loneliness, mental health, ageing, social fragmentation — have a strong relational dimension. Many of the problems of cities manifest themselves through relationships. And many of the solutions lie in their strengthening.
We believe that territories should be conceived as relational ecosystems, where human relationships constitute an infrastructure as important as roads, buildings or digital networks. A truly human city creates the conditions for people to establish meaningful relationships with one another and with the community.
