Digital and Relational.
The digital transition is not only a technological transformation — it is also a relational transformation. We advocate a humanist vision of digitalisation, one that places the quality of human relationships at the centre of change.
How can we ensure that, in an increasingly digital society, we continue to build truly human relationships?
As digital technologies become ever more present in our lives, they alter the contexts in which human relationships take place — influencing the rhythms, spaces, expectations and forms of interaction between people, organisations and communities.
We argue that the success of digitalisation should not be measured solely by efficiency or technological innovation. It should also be assessed by its capacity to strengthen high-quality human relationships, promote well-being, reinforce trust and contribute to more cohesive societies.
The fundamental question is not simply how to build more digital societies. The question is how to ensure that, in a society increasingly mediated by technology, we continue to build meaningful relationships, strong communities and environments that promote human dignity.
